In the Job Options section, you can give a name to the backup job and specify the details of how this backup job should be performed. For example, you can enable or disable application-aware mode and change tracking. Other options include network acceleration, encryption, VM verification, bandwidth throttling, and more.
Can I enable log truncation when performing Hyper-V backup?
Yes. NAKIVO Backup & Replication allows you to truncate Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft SQL Server transaction logs. The transaction logs are deleted (or truncated) after the backup job is completed so that the log files are available in the VM backup. Set up log truncation in the Pre and Post Actions section.
What is Hyper-V Manager?
Microsoft Hyper-V Manager is an administrative tool that can be used to create, modify and remove VMs and hosts running in a Hyper-V virtual environment. However, Hyper-V Manager doesn’t offer the functionality to fully protect your data. NAKIVO Backup & Replication addresses this issue, letting you reliably back up your Hyper-V virtual machines.
How can I encrypt Hyper-V backup data?
To encrypt Hyper-V backup data, you should enable encryption in the Options section. There are two types of encryption: in-flight and at-rest. In-flight encryption allows you to protect data as it travels over WAN. Equally important, at-rest encryption enables the protection of data stored in the backup repository.
Can NAKIVO Backup & Replication back up VMs running on other hypervisors?
Yes. You can use NAKIVO Backup & Replication to perform image-based, incremental, app-aware backup of VMware VMs. The solution supports vSphere 7. You can also run incremental, application-aware backups of Nutanix AHV VMs. Finally, you can use NAKIVO Backup & Replication to protect Amazon EC2 instances.
