Safer Backups in Immutable Storage
Immutable Repository Types
Choose between two different repository types when storing immutable backups:
• Local Folder: Keep your data in local Linux-based repositories and apply immutability for an added layer of protection.
• Amazon S3: Send your backups to the cloud with S3 Object Lock enabled to ensure that your data cannot be modified.
Hardened VA and AMI
Deploy NAKIVO Backup & Replication as a VA/AMI with built-in immutable Linux-based repositories. Directly apply immutability to backups and backup copies without prior configuration.
• Hardened Virtual Appliance: Deploy the solution as a VA in VMware environments.
• Hardened Amazon Machine Image: Deploy the solution in the Amazon EC2 cloud as a pre-configured AMI.
Immutability with NAKIVO
Store backups and backup copies to prevent the data from overwriting, modification or deletion. The write-once-read-many (WORM) model guarantees data recoverability in case of a disaster since backups stored in an immutable repository are safe from ransomware attacks and other malicious activities.
