Here’s a detailed breakdown of the new features and enhancements added in version 11.1.

Multilingual Interface

The new version offers a full localized backup interface in seven languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Polish and Chinese—building on the beta support introduced earlier. This comprehensive language support extends across the entire interface, including administration settings, job configuration wizards and recovery workflows. You can also check system-generated job reports, email alerts and recovery verification screenshots in your selected language.

MSP Direct Connect

In v11.1, NAKIVO boosts the MSP’s ability to deliver secure services to clients with an enhanced Direct Connect feature. The new functionality eliminates the need for open ports on the tenant’s side–a common vulnerability in traditional setups. All communications between the MSP Director and Client Transporter are encrypted to prevent interception and unauthorized access. This release also extends Direct Connect support to include Hyper-V and Proxmox VE in addition to VMware and physical machines. This means you can protect more of your client’s infrastructure.

Expanded Backup Capabilities for Proxmox VE

Building on the agentless backup for Proxmox VE, v11.1 adds a comprehensive backup and disaster recovery toolkit that reduces recovery times and increases operational resilience. You can leverage Flash VM Boot to instantly boot Proxmox VMs directly from backups rather than waiting for VM recovery during outages. You can also create and maintain identical replicas of VMs and swiftly failover during failures or outages. Beyond core backup and recovery features, you can run backup verification with detailed recovery reports and screenshots of test-recovered VMs to ensure backup integrity and recovery readiness. You can also back up and restore VM templates to ensure consistency across your virtual infrastructure. Additionally, you can recover backups of Proxmox VMs stored on tape devices to your environment without requiring intermediate staging. Finally, you can set up the automatic truncation of transaction logs after successful backups to cut storage usage. With these expanded capabilities, v11.1 provides a complete, enterprise-grade solution for Proxmox VE environments backup and recovery—without adding complexity or overhead.

Real-Time Replication for VMware

NAKIVO’s real-time replication functionality allows you to create real-time replicas of VMware VMs, continuously updated with source VM changes, with RPOs as low as 1 second. v11.1 builds on this with automated failover to real-time replicas within the Site Recovery workflow to streamline VMware disaster recovery and eliminate manual work during disasters. Real-time replication setup has become more straightforward in v11.1—the solution automatically installs the necessary IO Filter and Journal Service on both source and target hosts. Additionally, you can integrate failover actions for real-time replication into Site Recovery jobs to automatically switch to real-time replicas during an outage with a single click. You can test failover processes to validate your DR plans and ensure recovery readiness without impacting production systems. On top of that, all replicated data transmitted over unsecured WAN connections is protected with AES-256 encryption.

Granular Backup for Physical Machines

You can now create granular backups of specific volumes or folders on Windows and Linux physical machines. This targeted approach cuts processing time and bandwidth and allows for more efficient storage use by focusing only on critical data. Granular physical backups can be stored anywhere—cloud, local storage, tape, deduplication appliances, or file shares. Backups are encrypted at all stages and can be made immutable in local and cloud storage or even air-gapped on Tape devices to protect against ransomware and accidental deletions. Recovery is just as flexible: Select the required folders or volumes and recover directly to SMB/NFS shares, send via email, or download through your web browser.
