Siggi Group is an industrial group specializing in the manufacture of professional clothing. The group was founded in 1966, in Italy. Siggi has been collaborating with MasterChef Italia since the show’s first season in 2011, with a range of aprons and the MasterChef Italia brand chef’s uniforms are available to all cooking enthusiasts.
Siggi’s IT infrastructure consists of 2 sites and 1 cloud datacenter, with 25 VMware virtual machines deployed for production purposes. Virtual machines store various file servers, mail servers, Microsoft SQL servers, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, a phone management system, business intelligence, and other application servers. All the group’s servers are mission-critical for business continuity, and any disruption to processes can lead to negative consequences for the company. Moreover, protecting data that is stored in the cloud is also vital. That is why reliable backup and disaster recovery procedures must be used for the business to run successfully. If critical data becomes unavailable, Siggi might suffer from a complete halt to all sales and production processes.
Siggi Group had another VM backup solution deployed at their sites, but Omninet, an IT solutions partner, suggested another better suited alternative.
