NAKIVO Backup & Replication v10.5 Beta Program Terms & Conditions

By participating in this v10.5 Beta Program (the “Program”), you hereby agree to abide by General Program Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) available at www.nakivo.com/resources/releases/general-beta-terms and NAKIVO Privacy Policy available at https://www.nakivo.com/support/privacy-policy/ (the “Privacy Policy”). If you do not agree with the Terms, do not participate in the Program.

In seeking to improve NAKIVO Backup & Replication with every new version, NAKIVO relies on quality feedback from industry professionals. Try the software in your own environment and send your feedback. Participants of the Program can receive an Amazon eGift Card.

1. PROGRAM END DATE

November 14, 2021.

2. ELIGIBLE PRODUCTS

The following product is eligible for the Program: NAKIVO Backup & Replication v10.5 Beta.

3. ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS

Anyone aged 18 or over is eligible to participate in the Program. Eligibility will be determined by NAKIVO at its sole discretion.

4. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

To obtain the Amazon eGift Card:

  • Proceed with 1 of the 3 tests below.
  • Send the support bundle to support@nakivo.com before the Program end date.
  • Provide your feedback by filling out a short survey.

Option 1: VMware Monitoring

1.Add VMware vCenter or ESXi to Inventory in NAKIVO Backup & Replication.

2.Go to the Monitoring dashboard.

3.Add your VMware vCenter or ESXi to the Monitored Items List and save the tree.

4.Allow at least 1 hour for data collection.

5.Select ESXi from the Monitored Items Tree and verify that:

a.The pie charts display correct data for ESXi CPU and RAM

b.There are eleven 5-minute intervals on ESXi CPU and RAM line charts

6.Select a VM from the Monitored Items Tree and verify that:

a.The pie charts display correct data for VM CPU, RAM, and disk space usage.

b.The information about VM CPU, RAM, and disk usage is correct in the line charts.

7.Select a datastore from the Monitored Items Tree and verify that:

a.The pie charts display correct data for datastore disk usage.

b.The information about VM disk usage is correct in the line chart.

8.Power off a VM, update Inventory and verify that:

a.No data is displayed for VM CPU, RAM, and disk usage pie charts as they are real-time charts that should be updated every 1 minute.

b. The information about VM CPU, RAM, and disk usage is correct in the line charts for the last hour.

Option 2: Hardened Virtual Appliance (VA) for Immutable Repository

1.Deploy NAKIVO Backup & Replication as a new VMware VA, Nutanix VA or Amazon Machine Image. Choose full-solution, multi-tenant or Transporter-only deployment.

2.Check that the OS version is Ubuntu Server 20.04.

3.Check actions as below:

ssh to new port: 2221

ssh fail attempt to be locked

/tmp /var/tmp is secured

show shared memory is secured

show root is disabled

4.Create a VMware vSphere backup job to the Backup Repository that was created by the VA Transporter.

5.At the Retention step, select the checkbox to make recovery points immutable and specify the period for immutability.

6.Run the backup job and verify that it has been successfully completed.

7.Go to the physical folder of the Backup Repository (NakivoBackup). Remove some files.

8.Go to Configuration > Repositories, and select the local Backup Repository. Then go to Manage > Repair to start the repair process.

9. Once the repair process is completed, create a full recovery job (Dashboard > Recover). Select the latest recovery point, and run the recovery job.

10.Once the recovery job is completed, log in to the recovered machine to verify that the removed files have been restored.

11.Go to the Backup Repository. Verify that the immutable flag cannot be lifted by nkvuser.

Option 3: Backup for Microsoft 365: Auto Set Permissions by Admin

1.In the Microsoft 365 admin center, verify that your Microsoft 365 account has Global Admin and SharePoint Admin roles.

2.In NAKIVO Backup & Replication, go to Settings > Add (+) > SaaS > Next.

3.Fill out all required fields and select all services on the Services screen. Click Next.

4.On the Configuration screen, select Automatically register a new Azure AD application. On the Authentication screen, specify an application name, copy the provided code and click https://microsoft.com/devicelogin

5.On the Microsoft confirmation tab enter the code from the Authentication screen and click Next. Log in to a Microsoft account to register it as a new Azure application. Return to the Authentication screen and wait for the account to be authenticated. Click Finish.

6.The account is registered as a new application in Azure, important information about the new account is downloaded as a .txt file and the new Microsoft 365 account is displayed in the Inventory in NAKIVO Backup & Replication.

7.Create backup jobs for Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online. Run the backup jobs and make sure backups have successfully been created.

8.Recover emails, contacts, calendar items, files, folders, lists, list items, document libraries or sites successfully to the original or a different location.

Additional conditions:

Participation in the Promotion is limited to one employee or authorized representative of a company.

  • You must use your business email address to download the Eligible Product, send the support bundle, and complete the survey.
  • You must submit the support bundle before the Program end date.
  • You must fill out the survey before the Program end date.
  • All questions in the survey must be answered.
  • The information provided in the survey must be correct and accurate.
  • You agree that a NAKIVO representative may contact you in order to clarify the information provided in the survey.

5. eGIFT CARDS

  • Depending on the region, Eligible Participants may receive a $20 Amazon eGift Card, a €15 Amazon eGift Card, or a £10 Amazon eGift Card.
  • Each Eligible Participant may receive only one Amazon eGift Card.
  • Amazon eGift Cards shall be sent to Eligible Participants who have completed all Program Requirements within one week from Program End Date.
  • Only the first 100 Eligible Participants will receive an Amazon eGift Card.

6. Information submitted

You hereby grant NAKIVO and its affiliates an irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual license to use your survey responses in connection with improving, marketing, and/or selling NAKIVO’s products. Except as otherwise set forth herein, use of the information submitted in the Survey is governed by NAKIVO’s Privacy Policy.

7. MISCELLANEOUS

In addition to the Terms, by participating in this Program, you agree that:

Nakivo reserves the sole right to establish and interpret the terms of this Program.

Nakivo reserves the right of refusal of any claim that, in Nakivo’s sole judgment, does not meet the requirements or specifications outlined herein for Program eligibility and participation.

Nakivo expressly disclaims any and all liability relating to the results of any of its marketing plans or programs.

  • The offer is limited to one request for Eligible Product per Eligible Participant (including its affiliates as defined in the Terms).
  • NAKIVO reserves the sole right to revise or cancel the Program at any time, for any reason, and without further notice.
  • The Program is subject to applicable laws and regulations and void where prohibited.

The Program is available worldwide.

The Program cannot be combined or cumulated with any other Nakivo offers, promotions, campaigns, or sales programs, if otherwise not determined by Nakivo.
