What’s New in v10.9

Bare-Metal Recovery

Bare-Metal Recovery

Faster physical server recovery.

Swiftly restore entire physical machines from backups to the same or other identical hardware. Avoid the hassle of re-installing the OS and applications or re-configuring the settings. In case of a system failure or malware infection, recover the physical machine to a previously working state and continue operations with minimal disruption.

Backup Malware Scan

Backup Malware Scan

Malware-free recovery for better resilience.

Scan your backup data for malware or ransomware infection and ensure it’s available when needed. Integrate NAKIVO Backup & Replication with Microsoft Windows Defender, ESET NOD32 Smart Security, and Sophos Endpoint Protection and scan your VMs for malware before recovery. Ensure continuous compliance with regulations and reporting standards that require malware detection.

Direct Recovery from Tape

Direct Recovery from Tape

Faster, simpler VM recoveries.

Recover full virtual machines and EC2 instances directly to your infrastructure from backups stored on tape media. When restoring specific virtual machines, you can improve recovery times by not using a staging repository first. Supported platforms are VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, and Amazon EC2. You can also restore Windows and Linux physical machines as VMware VMs from backups stored on tape using physical-to-virtual (P2V) Recovery.

New Supported Platforms

vSphere 8.0 Update 1 Support

Comprehensive protection for the latest version.

Upgrade to the latest vSphere 8.0 Update 1 to take advantage of improved operational efficiency and security while protecting your ESXi VMs and application data with NAKIVO Backup & Replication v10.9 BETA.

Debian Support

New platform support for deployment and data protection.

Install NAKIVO Backup & Replication v10.9 BETA on Debian operating systems and/or protect your Debian OS-based physical machines. Create app-aware, incremental backups of physical machines running Debian 10.1 and up to Debian 11.5.

Feature Enhancements

Direct Connect

Secure single port connection for more platforms.

Establish a secure connection to tenant environments over a single port without setting up a VPN connection. This feature adds support for physical machines, Site Recovery, VMware Free ESXi hosts and NAS-based Transporters.

Backup of In-Place Archive and Litigation Hold Mailboxes

Better legal compliance and e-discovery.

Back up In-Place Archive mailboxes as well as mailboxes/items with Litigation or In-Place Hold enabled. Instantly recover items from these backups to meet regulatory compliance requirements and easily locate items to fulfill e-discovery requests.

PST Recovery for Exchange Server

Versatile recovery whenever needed.

Export Microsoft Exchange Server objects, including private mailboxes, public folders, and emails, to a PST file in a custom location. Use the Object Level Recovery functionality to recover PST files and keep your Outlook data secure, or store email, contacts, calendar items or any other Outlook data for archival purposes.

External Database for Multi-Tenant Deployments

Seamless performance at any scale.

Switch from the internal H2 database of NAKIVO Backup & Replication to an external database to maximize reliability in large environments. This update expands on the previous version of the external database feature by adding support for multi-tenant environments. Use an existing PostgreSQL database or create a new one to boost performance and avoid disruptions as the infrastructure grows.
